The mission of the USTA Foundation is to bring together tennis and education to change lives of youngsters. The Foundation utilizes financial grants, scholarship opportunities, curricula, technical assistance and training to make a lasting difference, with a primary focus of developing and ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network.

The Foundation impacts more than 225,000 youngsters through 350 NJTL chapters across the country, allowing them to continue providing quality tennis and educational programming to those most in need

To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $25 million in grants and scholarships to more than 270 programs, helping thousands of children and adults throughout the country.

Veterans honored on Military Appreciation Day

Service members and veterans shared center stage with the best tennis players in the world at the fifth annual Military Appreciation Day. As part of the Labor Day activities planned on Day 8 of the US Open, service members, veterans and their families were treated to a day of tennis and recognized during on-court ceremonies throughout the day and night sessions.

EXCELLENCE TEAMS

Learn about the lasting impact of excellence teams

Excellence teams are designed to provide coaching, equipment and tournament travel at no cost to underserved junior tennis players from under-resourced populations. The program includes a playing pyramid with mass community outreach at the bottom of the pyramid, a pathway of developmental programs in the middle and an elite group emerging at the top.

Deserving youngsters participate in excellence teams camp

A talented group of 12 boys and 12 girls took part in a National Junior Tennis & Learning Excellence Teams camp held at the USTA National Campus in collboration with USTA Player Development. The event is being held in conjunction with the USTA Foundation, the national charitable arm of the USTA, which raises money to support NJTL programs.

USTA foundation surpasses $25 million in giving

The USTA Foundation, the charitable arm of the USTA, surpassed $25 million in total giving last year. That includes $2.8 million in grants and scholarships awarded during the 2016 calendar year, with more than $1.1 million granted to 61 tennis and education programs nationwide.
