Dear Friend of the USTA Foundation,

USTA1165367_20190825_USTAF_0306

Mayor David N. Dinkins knew that tennis promotes a student’s confidence, character and educational achievement. He saw tennis as a pathway for diverse students to realize their dreams. I remember Mayor Dinkins as a friend and a visionary, and I am pleased to honor his memory: The USTA Foundation has established the David N. Dinkins Fund to honor his legacy.

I ask that you consider making a gift to celebrate the commitment to change lives through tennis and education.

Mayor Dinkins was a history-maker in more ways than one as the 106th mayor of New York City and the first Black man to hold the office, and his influence on tennis was unmatched. An avid tennis player and fan from his youth to well into his adult life, Dinkins played a leading role in the growth of the game. He served on both the Board of Directors for the United States Tennis Association for 12 years and the Board of Directors for the USTA Foundation from its inception.

Your gift helps the USTA Foundation provide meaningful tennis and academic opportunities for youth. Can I count on you for your support? The USTA Foundation’s 285+ NJTL chapters nationwide will benefit from your generosity. The David N. Dinkins Fund will further quality tennis instruction to youth and promote diversity across its chapter network.

Mayor Dinkins’ actions shaped the game’s future and access to the courts. Please join me in changing lives, providing opportunities, and rallying for the future by making a gift to the David N. Dinkins Fund.

Sincerely,
