The mission of the USTA Foundation is to change lives, utilizing the powerful combination of tennis and education to serve up dreams for under-resourced youth, individuals with disabilities and wounded, ill and injured service members, veterans and their families.

In 2015, the USTA Foundation remained true to that mission.

The USTA Foundation has announced that, thanks to its fundraising efforts in 2015, it remains on track to reach its ambitious three-year goal of donating $15 million to tennis and education programs. Much of that money will be used to support event programming, build infrastructure and invest in the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network, helping to build strong and sustainable organizations in key U.S. markets.

In 2015 alone, the USTA Foundation awarded more than $2.7 million in grants and scholarships, completing its year-end funding cycle by awarding more than $1.1 million in grants to 72 organizations nationwide.

Donations play a vital role in these efforts. Dan Faber, the USTA Foundation’s executive director, noted that the money directly helps programs devote time and resources to providing under-resourced youth, individuals with disabilities and military veterans with the necessary tools to achieve success through tennis and education – and to excel in life.

“The USTA Foundation is amazed by the level of support and generosity by some of our supporters and donors, which has clearly attributed to us heading in the right direction to meeting our goal for this great campaign,” Faber said. “We are excited to see what’s in store for the next year and half as we prepare to support more outstanding programs.”

To date, the USTA Foundation, the national charitable arm of the USTA, has awarded more than $22 million to programs, primarily through NJTL, whose network of chapters reach more than 225,000 youths every year.
