It’s truly amazing how many opportunities in my life have come from tennis. I met my wife through tennis, along with so many coaches and friends who have helped me so much along the way. Tennis taught me how to work hard, set goals and compete. It also taught me time management and how to stay organized, and it gave me great educational opportunities. Professionally, the network that tennis provided me has been invaluable.
My wife is the runner in our family (13 marathons!) and I always told her I would run New York if I had the chance. Having seen firsthand how much great work is done for kids with tennis here in my home USTA Northern Section and how the USTA Foundation helps with that work, I knew right away I wanted to support them by running with their team in New York City.
So many of us have had such incredible experiences because of tennis; this is a great chance to play a role in giving many more kids those same experiences. I am looking forward to increasing the awareness about the important work of the USTA Foundation and their support of programs that combine tennis and education. This is a powerful combination that I am honored to be a part of. I am excited about dedicating my marathon experience to helping under-resourced youth enhance their lives and I am thrilled to support the USTA Foundation as they continue to serve up dreams, deliver hope, health and future success to those in need.
I greatly appreciate any support you can give me by sponsoring my run on behalf of the work of the USTA Foundation. Your support helps youth succeed in school, on the courts and in life!
