Rally For a Cause!

October 19, 2017 03:36 PM

The Reston Tennis Association recently hosted a tennis event to support the good work that the USTA Foundation does through the National Junior Tennis & Learning Network.

Over 100 tennis players in the Northern Virginia metropolitan area came out to Reston's Lake Newport Tennis Courts to "rally" for two great causes:  the USTA Foundation's National Junior Tennis & Learning programs, bringing tennis and education together to enrich the lives of youth across America; and Cornerstones Laurel Learning Center, which assists under-served kids in the local community through comprehensive family services and developmental childcare programs.  The Tournament was a weekend full of Men's and Women's Doubles and Singles play, raffle drawings, food and fun -- and helped raise nearly $6,000 for our benefiting organizations. You can design a Tournament in your area and make a difference too!

"I play in the tournament because I love the game of tennis. It is a privilege to be able to play the game. The USTA Foundation extends this privilege to under-served people so they too can enjoy this great sport.

The education component of the foundation is critical in uplifting some of our youth who are caught in circumstances that limit their opportunities of succeeding in the game of life.

How can I not be excited about supporting a foundation that supports our youth in the games of tennis and life?"
