The USTA Foundation is proud to announce that it has assisted 32 deserving student-athletes in the class of 2020 in their pursuit of higher education by awarding them $310,000 in scholarships.
Each year, the USTA Foundation awards this financial assistance to deserving youth who have participated in USTA and other organized youth tennis programs, have demonstrated high academic achievement and have engaged their communities, and who require financial assistance for college matriculation.
This year's honorees, while showcasing the best of themselves in the classroom, in their communities and on the tennis court during their high school careers, demonstrated their resilience and strength of character by continuing to excel in the face of unprecedented circumstances brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“During these challenging times, scholarships are more important than ever and the USTA Foundation is committed to supporting the educational journeys of these exceptional students who have proven their academic excellence and community service,” said Dan Faber, Executive Director, USTA Foundation.
“We congratulate the 2020 award recipients on their path towards continued education and leadership through tennis.”
For the first time, all of the honorees hail from National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) chapters. Falling under six different scholarship categories overall, these students hail from 16 different states and over 20 NJTL programs.
