Venice, Calif.

I am a USTA Southern California staff member, so naturally I love the USTA Foundation. It would be an honor to run the NYC Marathon and draw awareness to the Foundation. I grew up playing tennis in Long Beach, Calif. These days I race triathlons and I have one marathon under my belt. I joined the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team in Training Triathlon team in 2012 and it changed my life. It got me back on track to a healthy lifestyle, introduced me to a wonderful community of friends and to a life of giving back. Since that season, I've mentored other tri-athletes and stayed involved in that cause.

I enjoy staying active and training with my community of athlete friends. This year I will also participate in the 2014 Vineman Half Ironman (70.3 miles), so I understand the commitment and dedication is takes to cross the finish line. It is all worth it in the end.

Running the NYC marathon for tennis, a sport that has given me so much, would be an honor. I am looking forward to raising funds for the USTA Foundation, which will help support the LA Foundation SCTA/NYJTL Youth Tennis program for under-resourced youth. I will be running the NYC marathon in honor of the late Henry Talbert, former USTA Southern California executive director, who was an extraordinary man.

I greatly appreciate any support you can give me by sponsoring my run on behalf of the work of the USTA Foundation. Your support helps youth succeed in school, on the courts and in life!
