Stamford, Conn.

My childhood was phenomenal for many reasons, but having the opportunity to play sports is still one of my favorite aspects. I come from a very active family and my parents allowed us to try anything we wanted to try. I played many team and individual sports but tennis definitely stood out among them. It improved my eye-hand coordination and fitness level, helped me develop good sportsmanship and worked on my problem-solving skills all the while teaching me how to deal with athletic stress and pressure. All of the USTA Foundation’s guiding principles are fantastic, but the one that sticks out to me the most is that it promotes fitness, health, citizenship, leadership, and self-esteem. I hope by running the marathon for the USTA Foundation, I can help children develop in those ways.

This is my first marathon and I’m very excited. I work for the United States Tennis Association in our national office, and when I saw the posting from the USTA Foundation about its partnership with the NYC Marathon, I was immediately interested. I grew up playing tennis and I love that it’s a huge part of my adult life. I feel lucky to work for the USTA and I am very proud to be running for the USTA Foundation.

I greatly appreciate any support you can give me by sponsoring my run on behalf of the work of the USTA Foundation. Your support helps youth succeed in school, on the courts and in life!
