USTA Foundation, OFFLINE by Aerie® and the Aerie Real Foundation™ partner to empower next generation of women in tennis

The USTA Foundation has partnered with the Aerie Real Foundation™ to help expand the pipeline of women tennis coaches and broaden tennis programs in under-resourced communities nationwide.

Central to the partnership is a $50,000 grant to the USTA Foundation from the Aerie Real Foundation™. These funds will support the USTA Foundation’s initiative to grow the women’s coaching network, addressing a critical hurdle in attracting and retaining young women and girls in the sport.

This grant will enable the USTA Foundation to train 500 new women coaches across its over 270 community-based organizations nationwide that provide access to tennis, education and mentorship programs to young people from under-resourced communities. By placing women coaches at the forefront, the initiative ensures that young people are supported by a diverse and growing pipeline of skilled women coaches.

To celebrate the collaboration, the USTA Foundation and OFFLINE by Aerie®, an activewear brand made for the sport of you, have launched a merchandise collaboration, a first of its kind for the USTA Foundation. The exclusive, co-branded collection features a specially designed OFFLINE by Aerie x USTA Foundation Cloud Fleece Classic Crewneck Sweatshirt and OFFLINE by Aerie x USTA Foundation Cotton Twill Baseball Hat. Starting August 20, these limited-edition items will be available exclusively at Aerie’s SoHo flagship store located at 560 Broadway and online at aerie.com/offline.

“Tennis teaches courage, resilience and self-belief—qualities the Aerie Real Foundation™ strives to instill in every young woman,” said Jennifer Foyle, President, Executive Creative Director, AE & Aerie. “By joining forces with the USTA Foundation and investing in women coaches, we’re putting those values into motion on the court and empowering girls in under-resourced communities to build confidence, develop leadership skills and ignite a lifelong passion for the sport.”

“Coaches do far more than teach the fundamentals of a sport; they serve as critical role models who show the next generation what’s possible. It is critical that girls see women in these types of leadership roles,” said USTA Foundation CEO Ginny Ehrlich. “We are grateful to the Aerie Real Foundation™ and OFFLINE by Aerie® for their support in helping us create more pathways for women to coach and lead, and inspiring future leaders both on and off the court.”
