Daymond John and Matt Ebert share wisdom with USTA Foundation students during 2025 US Open

Inspiration, generosity, and opportunity were on full display at this year’s US Open when the USTA Foundation welcomed entrepreneur Daymond John, Founder of FUBU and star of ABC’s "Shark Tank," and Matt Ebert, Founder and CEO of Crash Champions, for a powerful conversation with 24 standout student-athletes from under-resourced communities.

As one of the keynote events during Haber Career Excellence Week in New York City, John and Ebert shared lessons on resilience, leadership, and building futures through both traditional and nontraditional paths.

Ebert and Crash Champions also made a $25,000 donation to the USTA Foundation, underscoring their commitment to empowering young people through education, mentorship, and opportunity. To amplify the moment, John and Ebert shared a video recap on their social channels, extending the students’ stories to millions more.

Together, the two leaders reminded students (and the world) that success comes in many forms, and investing in the next generation is one of the most meaningful returns.

“I know what it feels like to have someone believe in you before you believe in yourself," Ebert said.

"That belief changes everything. For me, this isn’t just a donation, it’s a chance to help the next generation see what’s possible when someone gives them that shot. Especially in the skilled trades, where opportunity is earned with your hands and your heart, belief can spark a career and a life.

"I’m proud that Crash Champions can play a small part in helping these students build their future the same way so many of us did— through hard work, grit, and pride in what we do.”

John added, “Mentorship and exposure are everything. What these students get here—access to business leaders about their future is incredibly valuable. I’m honored to be part of it.”

Their commitment to the next generation underscored the heart of the USTA Foundation’s mission and that when leaders give back, the ripple effect can change lives for years to come.
